FAQ

FAQ

Does Acupuncture Hurt?
No, acupuncture should not hurt. Most patients are quite surprised about how little it hurts. Sensations that are typically felt during needle insertion include a momentary prick, followed by a very mellow, dull pressure and sometimes a sensation of energy radiating through the body. Many patients are amazed by how relaxed they feel during and after a treatment.

Is Acupuncture Safe?
As long as a competent practitioner performs it, acupuncture is extremely safe. Acupuncturists are required to have 3 years of training and they use sterilized, one-time use, needles.

How Many Acupuncture Treatments Will I Need?
This is unique to the individual. For the best results I recommend that patients come in for 8-12 treatments, twice a week for three weeks and 1 time per week for 6 weeks. This frequency helps to solidify the effects of acupuncture for every patient.
